Transports
Keeshond Angels Rescue and Transport is
different than most rescue groups because one of our goals is to actively
assist in transporting dogs. These dogs may be coming into foster from a
shelter, puppy mill, or other situation where they are no longer wanted and
the only foster home for them is a distance away. Or it may be a foster dog
going to its furever home which is not close. It could also be a dog being
returned to rescue or to a reputable breeder and distance is again
involved.
Through many contacts across the county
and with other rescue groups KART has many avenues open to move a dog from
one part of the country to another. Transports are not always for
keeshonden. Frequently a long transport will involve an overnight stay and
a temporary foster home for overnight is needed. KART can also assist in
securing a safe home on the road for the traveling dog. And dogs of all
breeds may join in a long transport, hopping on and off as the transport
moves across country.
If you know of a dog that needs
transport assistance, please email
info@keesangels.org and include as much information,
including location and telephone number(s), as possible.
Recent Transports
02/24/08 - KART member Julie Jacob
picked up Wookie and Yankee in Emporia, KS and transported them to Lawrence,
KS. We had a last minute passenger of a playful rottie girl who needed
a lift to her temporary foster home in Kansas City. I was happy to
meet at the drop-off point in Lawrence Cindy Dressler, she is the Animal
Control Supervisor for
Leavenworth County, KS. Cindy stated that she is grateful for
working with rescue and doing transports is her way of giving back to them.
Rescue appreciates your help Cindy! (sorry no pics)
