Welcome to Keeshond Angels
Keeshond Angels Rescue and Transport (KART)
is a rescue group dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming purebred
Keeshonden. These kees (nickname for keeshonden) come from a variety of
situations and are placed in foster homes for evaluation, medical care and
plenty of love. Our kees are always spayed or neutered, brought up to date on shots and evaluated for medical issues and personality traits before they are
ready to scamper off to their new homes.
Our organization is non-profit and operated by
volunteers. These volunteers wear many hats for the organization in addition to
having full time jobs and families. Please be patient with us! If you have sent
an inquiry and have not received a response within five days, please try again.
What does KART do?
Exactly what is a keeshond?
The Keeshond (pronounced kayz-hawnd) is a
natural, handsome dog of well-balanced, short-coupled body, attracting attention
not only by his coloration, alert carriage, and intelligent expression, but also by his stand-off coat, his richly plumed tail well curled over his back, his
fox-like expression, and his small pointed ears. The Keeshond is neither timid
nor aggressive but, instead, is outgoing and friendly with both people and other
dogs. The Keeshond is a lively, intelligent, alert and affectionate companion.

Why the name Keeshond Angels?
. . . because this is absolutely the most perfect breed of
dog! These children in fur coats can be the sweetest, most loving companion any
individual or family could possibly want! Of course, their halo gets a little
tarnished at times and their wings droop at other times because we humans know
they really aren’t perfect!
. . . because the volunteers who give so generously of their
time, talents, and money are the true angels. Without them so many of our
beloved “fuzz butts” would not be rescued from neglect, abuse, or indifference.
. . . because the keeshond rescue community has
many human angels watching over it from above. These angels left us way too
soon but we remember them always.
